The best covers often happen when artists reach across genres and step out of their comfort zone. That’s the spirit of Undercover and it’s the spirit platinum-selling singer-songwriter Jerrod Niemann embodied when he took on Paramore’s “Ain’t It Fun.” The track is an undeniably peppy, pop-rock anthem, but Niemann’s feet are firmly planted in the realm of country. Using Paramore’s shared Nashville as creative inspiration, he handily pulled the song into the world of country, all while delivering a first-rate cover.

In his interview below, Niemann goes in depth on what it was like to cover the track.

His latest single, “God Made A Woman,” is available now on Curb Records. His new record, This Ride, is due out later this year.
